Givens jib cranes are often “foundationless” because of the very large baseplates offered as standard. Concrete floor must be sound, with at least 20 MPa (3 ksi) strength, without nearby cracks or seams, with welded wire mesh and with a thickness of at least 6”. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the floor meets these requirements.
Givens’ G-Rail booms are made of aluminum. They are far more lightweight than almost any other on the market. The weight of the boom is absolutely critical to whether an operator likes or dislikes using a jib crane.
When a typical jib swings to its end-of-travel, the boom hits with a thud. Givens jibs cranes come standard with a “soft stop” to cushion that collision.
